[ ABOUT ]
Shilling by shilling, person by person.
I'm Bevaline, a financial inclusion and public policy professional with 10+ years of experience turning savings, research and policy into real change.
[ MY START ]

My journey started in banking at Kenya Commercial Bank: selling products, running KYC and anti-money-laundering checks, and recovering debt. It showed me how formal finance works, and who it leaves out.
[ IN THE FIELD ]
In Mathare I spent six years building savings groups from scratch. Ordinary people pooling small amounts became a real economic force, with bank accounts, interest earnings and an association of their own. I shared that practice at regional conferences in Zambia and Rwanda.

Today my focus is clear: making sure public money meant for women, youth and low-income households actually reaches them.

[ WHAT I DO BEST ]
Savings Groups, Financial Inclusion, Programme Design, Financial Literacy Training, Community Mobilisation, Stakeholder Partnerships, Staff Mentoring, MEL, Applied Research, Data Analysis, Public Finance Oversight, Gender-Responsive Budgeting, Policy Analysis, Governance & Accountability.
Over the years I moved from implementing programmes to scrutinising them, from training savings groups to questioning Accounting Officers on how public funds were spent.
MBA in Strategic Management and B.Com in Accounting (JKUAT). SMDP certificate, Carsey School of Public Policy, University of New Hampshire.
